Daily Devtion/Journal Prompt: 7-Fold Nature of the Holy Spirit

I love the Amplified Bible, it is my favorite study Bible. It helped me understand who the Holy Spirit is and what he is to me and what he does for me. All of John chapters 14-16 speak to me of Christ’s love for me and all who receive Him. Truth is His love is for all humanity even though scripture tells us in Zechariah 13: And in all the land, says the Lord, two-thirds shall be cut off and perish, but one-third shall be left alive.

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined and will test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will hear and answer them. I will say, It is My people; and they will say, The Lord is my God.

Jesus explains to the disciples in John 14  that he must leave and not only gives them/us hope for His return but leaves us in the care of the Holy Spirit and bequeathed to us HIS Peace. I am often asked how I can remain so unruffled when difficulties arise and my only explanation is the Peace that Christ has given us enables me to sleep well and allow Him to handle the problems. Understanding that I do not need to worry and I can trust God with all my problems has enabled me to move forward when I would otherwise have been stuck in the quicksand of worry, doubt and fear. Knowing I can ask the Holy Spirit for help, that it is my right as a Believer has been so freeing in my Christian walk. I sincerely hope  that you find that same freedom and peace.

John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—

17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

Have a blessed day and I hope this journal prompt blesses you and brings you peace
